About My Practice

NOTE: I offer in-person therapy or online sessions.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist offering services to individuals and couples in the greater Philadelphia area. My pronouns are he/him/his.

Approach to Therapy

My work is guided by psychodynamic and relational ideas. This means I believe the unique relationship we develop is a tool to gain meaning and healing. I focus on the here and now while maintaining a curiosity about how your past and unconscious motivations shape you.

I work with most individuals on a long-term basis, but I'm also open to focusing on short-term challenges and solutions.  I will listen closely to your needs, and I will share my questions and observations.

Fees & Logistics

I charge $160 per session for individuals and $180 for couples, and I ask for a commitment to one 50-minute session each week. I occasionally have sliding scale spots available (currently full as of January 2024). I do not accept insurance but can provide invoices if you would like to seek reimbursement from your insurance for out-of-network care.

My Background

I am interested in working with a diverse range of individuals; I have a depth of experience working with college students, adults in their 20's and 30's, and LGBTQ people. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, obsessive thoughts, trauma, dissociation, sexual abuse, and substance use.

I am currently pursuing training in relational psychoanalysis through the Institute for Relational Psychoanalysis of Philadelphia. I have also completed a three-year cycle of courses in complex trauma and dissociation as part of the certificate program offered by the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for over a decade in communications and legislative/grassroots advocacy on LGBTQ and domestic violence issues. I was also a stay-at-home parent. I graduated from Swarthmore College in 1999 and the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work & Social Research in 2016.
